Guinness mixed with WKD Blue is a thing, and it's kind of horrifying
OVER THE WEEKEND, people recoiled in horror at the sight of this Guinness and Smirnoff Ice cocktail available at a pub in Skegness.
The sight may have been shocking, but it’s not completely unheard of: People have been mixing the black stuff with alcopops for years.
Specifically, WKD Blue.
The concoction has many names, including a ‘floating Guinness’, an ‘Irish turbo’ and ‘oil slick’, but its appearance remains the same: WKD on the bottom half, Guinness on top.
The people who enjoy the drink are pretty evangelical about it, describing the taste as having ‘the smoothness of Guinness, and the kick of the WKD’.
Some drinkers like to shake it up even more by adding a shot of blue Aftershock liqueur.
